Credibility checklist when reviewing literature

Has it been through a rigorous editorial process such as peer-review?

Is the document referenced by other credible sources?    
     
The content of the document    
Does the author write in an objective, neutral tone?    
Is the content relatively current    
Is the audience likely to be a scholarly or knowledgeable one?    
Is this document useful for the current review?    
     
Additional questions for online sources    
Are the publisher details and editorial policy available?    
Is the web site current or appear updated regularly?    
Are there any broken links or other indicators of poor quality?
